The Ship has long been used to bring together the community through social events like quiz nights and food competitions as well as larger space for hire for weddings, birthdays all of which have been stopped by the sudden closure. Community Heritage
The Ship Inn is considered by Heritage England to be a site of historic interest, there having been a pub on this site since 1642. Since this time and until February 2025 the Ship has been the centre of this community and owned and run by those who live in the community. We need this to continue.
